Description:
Host your small private party at the JB’s Barnyard store in Mt. Vernon, IN! Lucy and Tootie, our miniature Jersey cows, will be inside the barn ready to greet you and your guests!
What to know before you book your event:
Our barn is a working cattle barn. Our cows will be inside the barn in their stall when you arrive. This means that when our cows POOP and PEE, they will do so inside their stall. Although our staff will clean up after our cows, it will SMELL like cow manure in our barn. Please remember we are offering you an authentic experience to visit our cows. We will provide hand sanitizer on site.
Guests may gently pet, take pictures with, and feed the cows the Tootie Treats provided by JB's Barnyard. If our cows eat anything other than the Tootie Treats provided by JB's Barnyard, you will be charged a $300 fee for onsite veterinarian care. Guests will not be permitted to enter past the fence into the cow's stall. Guests must remain standing on the outside of the fence at all times.
Guests are not permitted to roam the grounds. Please respect these guidelines, as this is our personal residence. When you arrive, you will see a blue house with a blue barn. Please park in the designated customer parking spots. Please make your way inside the blue barn. After your rental time is complete, we ask that you please make your way back to your cars.
Pricing:
The starting rate for the rental fee of the JB’s store is $200 (tax included).
Your rental fee includes:
1 hour event time
1 plastic table with 10 plastic chairs
10 prepackaged scoops of ice cream and 10 spoons
10 Tootie Treats you can use to feed our cows
Each additional prepackaged scoop and Tootie Treat requested beyond the 10 included in your rental fee will be an additional $5 each ($5 includes 1 additional prepackaged scoop & 1 additional Tootie Treat).
A maximum of 20 guests are allowed at your party (this includes adults & children). The JB's store is a very intimate space, with only 200 sq ft of open space, therefore we have a strict 20 guests limit allowed.
If you would like to rent the JB’s store for longer than one hour, we will add $50 per additional half hour requested to your rental fee.
Booking Availability:
The JB's store is only available to book for private parties when our store is closed. During the months of May - September, the JB's store will most likely be unavailable to book during the following hours:
Wednesday 4:00pm - 7:00pm
Thursday 4:00pm - 7:00pm
Friday 4:00pm - 7:00pm
Saturday 9:00am - 12:00pm
Tour of the JB's Production Area (Optional Add On):
Receive a tour of the JB’s Barnyard production area for a flat rate of $65 per party. The tour will be led by a JB's Barnyard staff member. During the production tour, your guests will be guided to our white barn. Guests will enter an office area where they will receive a lab coat, hair net, and shoe covers. Guests will be guided into our production area where they will learn about how we make the ice cream and store the product. JB's Barnyard will most likely not actually be producing ice cream during your tour time. Pictures are not permitted inside the production area. Pictures will only be permitted at the end of the tour, once all guests are back inside the office area.
The tour will take approximately 20 minutes to complete. The 20 minutes of tour time will be separate from your JB's store rental time. If, for example, you rented the JB's store for 1 hour and you booked a production tour, your total event time would be 1 hour and 20 minutes. JB's Barnyard staff will coordinate with you what time you would like your tour to begin.
Additional Details:
You are welcome to bring your own decorations and your own food! The walls of the JB's store are painted white concrete, therefore you will not be able to nail any decorations into the walls. You must provide your own tape or string if you wish to hang anything on the walls. Balloons are permitted. Decorations must not be within tongues-reach of the cows. They will eat anything and everything! As a reminder, if our cows eat anything other than the Tootie Treats provided by JB's Barnyard, you will be charged a $300 fee for onsite veterinarian care.
JB's Barnyard does have a bathroom on site, but there is not a bathroom inside the JB's store. If your guests need access to the bathroom, please notify a JB's Barnyard staff member.
Deposit/Payment: At the time of booking, you will be required to place a $50 deposit to hold your event date and time. We will send you an invoice to collect the remaining amount due after your event.
