Host a party everyone will remember for years to come! At the JB’s store in Mt. Vernon, IN, you can literally throw a party with our cows! Lucy and Tootie, our miniature Jersey cows, will be inside the barn ready to greet you and your guests! Not only will you be remembered for having cows at your party, this party will also include ice cream!
What to know before you book your event:
Cows at your party sound pretty cool, right? We think so! Just remember though, our barn is a working cattle barn. This means that when our cows poop and pee, they will do so inside their stall in the barn. Although our staff will clean up after our cows, it may smell like cow manure in our barn. Please remember we are offering you an authentic experience to visit our cows. We will provide hand sanitizer on site.
Guests may gently pet, take pictures with, and feed the cows the Tootie Treats provided by JB's Barnyard. Unfortunately, if our cows eat anything other than the Tootie Treats provided by JB's Barnyard, you will be charged a $300 fee for onsite veterinarian care (so watch your kiddos to make sure they don't try to feed our cows a cupcake!). Guests will not be permitted to enter past the fence into the cow's stall. Guests must remain standing on the outside of the fence at all times.
Pricing:
The starting rate for the rental fee of the JB’s store is $100 (tax included).
Your rental fee includes:
Up to 2 hours of rental time
1 plastic table with 10 plastic chairs
10 prepackaged scoops of ice cream and 10 spoons
10 Tootie Treats you can use to feed our cows
Each additional prepackaged scoop and Tootie Treat requested beyond the 10 included in your rental fee will be an additional $5 each ($5 includes 1 additional prepackaged scoop & 1 additional Tootie Treat).
A maximum of 20 guests are suggested for your party (this includes adults & children). The JB's store is a very intimate space, with only 200 sq ft of open space.
Booking Availability:
The JB's store is only available to book for private parties when our store is closed. The JB's store is open the following hours:
During the months of May - August:
Wednesday 4:00pm - 7:00pm
Friday 4:00pm - 7:00pm
Saturday 9:00am - 12:00pm
During the months of September - April:
Wednesday 4:00pm - 7:00pm
Saturday 9:00am - 12:00pm
Tour of the JB's Production Area (Optional Add On):
Receive a tour of the JB’s Barnyard production area for a flat rate of $50 per party. The tour will be led by a JB's Barnyard staff member. During the production tour, your guests will be guided to our white barn. Guests will enter an office area where they will receive an apron, hair net, and shoe covers. Guests will be guided into our production area where they will learn about how we make the ice cream and store the product. The tour will take approximately 30 minutes to complete.
Facility Details and What to Bring:
You are welcome to bring your own decorations and your own food! As a friendly reminder, the JB's store is a working cattle barn, so if you bring food, you might deal with pesky flies.
JB's Barnyard does have a bathroom on site, located in our white barn. There is a sink in this bathroom you can use if needed! We do not have any refrigerators, microwaves, or ovens you can use.
JB's Barnyard is located on about 2.5 acres of land. If you wish to bring any yard games or do an outdoor activity, that is welcomed. Just watch out for the cow pies if you are in the pasture!
You are welcome to set up your decorations either the day prior or a few hours before your event start time. Please coordinate with the JB's Barnyard staff when you would like to set up your decorations. The walls of the JB's store are painted white concrete, therefore you will not be able to nail any decorations into the walls. Please bring your own tape or string if you wish to hang anything on the walls. Decorations must not be within tongues-reach of the cows (they will eat anything and everything!). As a reminder, if our cows eat anything other than the Tootie Treats provided by JB's Barnyard, you will be charged a $300 fee for onsite veterinarian care.
JB's Barnyard Staff and Clean Up:
Someone from the JB's Barnyard staff will be present during your event. If you have any questions during your event, feel free to ask our staff. Although we ask that you take down any decorations you put up before you leave, you are welcome to put any waste in the provided garbage can. Please clean up the area as best as you can prior to departure. The JB's Barnyard staff member will take out the trash and clean the floors after your event.
Deposit/Payment: At the time of booking, you will be required to place a $50 deposit to hold your event date and time. We will send you an invoice to collect the remaining amount due after your event.
